Debbilize Swart

Debbilize (Registered Psychotherapist) provides comprehensive psychological assessment and treatment to adults experiencing a range of psychological challenges, including workplace stress and trauma (e.g., PTSD), interpersonal, loss, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. She also enjoys working with first responders (e.g., firefighters, police), supporting individuals presenting with complex trauma histories, and working with individuals identifying as LGBTQ+. With all of her clients, she places much importance on developing a strong therapeutic alliance rooted in genuine care, warmth, and acceptance.
Debbilize has experience providing Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and she also draws from trauma-focused and self-compassion modalities. She has worked in various private practice and hospital settings, including most recently the Work, Stress, and Health Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. Debbilize graduated with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto. She is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is also currently accumulating clinical hours with the goal of registering with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) as a Psychological Associate upon completion of CPO requirements. At Capital Region Psychological Services, Debbilize is supervised by Dr. David Duong.
