Dr. Reem Maassarani, C. Psych.
Dr. Maassarani obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Ottawa. Her clinical training includes bilingual assessments and interventions in the following settings: Centre for Psychological Services and Research (University of Ottawa), Family Medicine Unit (Montfort Hospital), Hepatitis C. Unit & Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit (Ottawa Hospital- General Campus), Centre for Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma (CTSACT) and Laboratoire de Cyberpsychologie (Université du Québec en Outaouais). Her Ph.D. research dissertation was supervised by Dr. Pierre Gosselin, at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Maassarani provides psychological services to individuals who are experiencing various ranges of concerns including difficulties with anxiety, mood, health concerns, chronic pain, trauma, loss and interpersonal difficulties. She is also trained to provide vocational assessments and guidance to people who are uncertain about their career paths and professional interests.
Dr. Maassarani is fully bilingual and is able to see both Anglophone and Francophone clients. Her treatment framework is primarily cognitive-behavioral but she also uses an integrative approach borrowing elements of interpersonal-therapy and emotional-focused therapy to best suit each client's needs.
