Dr. Stewart Madon

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

I like this quote, because it teaches us that no matter what go us to where we are now, we can get to where we want to go. There may be a lot of hard work involved in getting there, though, and that is where I can help.

Dr. Madon believes in the power of making small changes in behavior to transform our thoughts and emotions. His guiding philosophy is that change should push us out of our comfort zones while still keeping us safe. He values the importance of building a trusting and open therapeutic relationship as the foundation for exploring these changes. Dr. Madon has a strong academic background, with an undergraduate degree from Laurentian University and a Master's and Ph.D. from Lakehead University.

He has worked in various hospital and community-based treatment programs, gaining experience in helping individuals with posttraumatic stress, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, and relationship difficulties. Dr. Madon primarily uses cognitive-behavioural therapy, but he understands that everyone's journey is unique, and he tailors his approach accordingly.

He incorporates elements of dialectic behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, structured relapse prevention, and positive psychology to provide comprehensive care.
